All-Age Vacation Bible Camp
Mark your calendars—July 27-31
After the success
of Camp David last year we have decided to do
another All-Age Vacation Bible Camp. This year the theme is “Jonah Goes
to Joppa.” Elizabeth Hadaway has written the play and we are organizing
this month. There
is a meeting after the 10:30 service for organization. If you have any questions
speak to Fr. Mike.

Ongoing Outreach at Saint John’s
Knitting
for Johns Hopkins
Hospital
Every
three months we are trying to deliver handmade
knitted hats, sweaters, small baby blankets and crib
blankets to Johns
Hopkins Hospital.
They are used on premature infants and
given to needy families. Your time knitting is very much appreciated,
particularly if your donations of handmade items keeps this ministry going.
Donations of surplus knitting yarn are also welcomed. If you like people and
can remember to ask your friends and neighbors if they knit, we would be
grateful to them for helping us with this mission. They don’t have to
attend our church or join a group. It’s not where the items are made, but
the caring that is given, that matters.
Food
Pantry: we support the “Helping Hands
Food Pantry,” 7901 Bradshaw
Road, Upper Falls, MD 21156.
Phone 410-592-2226. Food is collected all year and deliveries are made as
needed.
Paul’s
Place: In the early winter we collect warm
clothing for the homeless at Paul’s Place in Baltimore. This effort is expanded to
supply seasonal clothing as needed.
Seafarers’
Mission: At Christmas we fill gift boxes for the
Seafarers’ Mission in Baltimore. These people are indigent crew
members from foreign countries. They arrive here with no warm clothing,
through no fault of their own. We collect clothing and supply them
with toiletries. Our goal this Christmas was twenty boxes and we filled
thirty-two.
The Harford County Women’s Detention Center offers
more outreach opportunities. Our contact there is Chaplin Roberts at
410-836-5090. Inmates at the center are required to have plain white cotton
bras and underpants, and have no funds available to purchase them. Church
members donate these items. Other
needs are plain writing paper, envelopes and stamps
